Over time the rough edges left by a drilling operation can cause the insulating paint to wear off from other modifications, due to vibration during running; Breakdown of the insulation will cause short circuits and probably damage your locomotive and/or decoder. You used to have two choices in this case, purchase another expensive kit, or buy a new chassis.

The PHat-Hat™ gives you an economical third choice – the ability to swap out the bush for an economically priced alternative.

Identical to our widely used DiGi-Hat™, but with a larger outside diameter to fit a 2.9mm hole, this bush will retro-fit other makes of modification before damage can occur. This bush is made from the same high performance material, but coloured black to differentiate it from our DiGi-Hat™. Of course, we also include two lengths of ultra-thin Kynar™ heat shrink sleeve to replace the thicker rubber sleeve previously fitted with your kit.
